Jesus Calling" Days 10 & 11

The devotionals for day 10 and day 11 speak of trusting God and showing our thanks for the blessings he has already bestowed upon us and for the blessings yet to come. Day 10 talks about always putting your trust in God whether things are great or not so great. As long as we give all our trust and love to Him we will always have safety and serenity in our hearts.  I have heard people say before that they don't know how to pray or how to talk to God. Day 11 says to speak to God candidly. That is all it takes. Open your heart and your mind and let the emotions, needs and thoughts flood out. God is your best friend and will always be there to hear your prayers.

Day 10

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" Psalm 56:3-4

"But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:20-21

Day 11

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." Colossians 4:2

"His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires." 2 Peter 1:3-4

These are my thoughts on these passages. What are yours?

  1. I love the passage that says "be still and know that I am God..." I think that is what is wrong with us so much of the time is that we do not take the time to meditate on God's awesomeness (if that is a word). To reflect on what He has done for us and the blessings that we have or to just simply praise Him!
