We're Having A..............

As an early surprise I decided to take a trip to Baby Waves in Columbus on Saturday to see the baby and find out the gender. Imagine............a beautiful, sunny day with excitement and anticipation in the air. Looking forward to finding out if you are having a boy or a girl. Afterwards, a trip the Baby's R Us to pick out all of the essentials. What a perfect day this will be!!! Scratch all of those plans. Things don't always work out the way you plan. I did go the Baby Waves, but before I had a horrible morning. I woke up sick with, as Kasi calls it, the Big "D" and throwing up around 2:00 AM and it lasted full force until about 9:30 AM (I did nap in between trips to the bathroom). My perfect day was interrupted by this terrible morning. However, I was determined to make my appointment to Baby Waves! Nothing could keep me from this moment. So I pull myself mostly together and we headed off to Columbus. We finally arrived and got to see our baby moving around and holding both hands above its head. At one point the baby was hiding its face from us. I am sure the little one had a rough morning right along with its mom. After watching the baby for a while they finally told us what we are having. We did get a dvd of the baby. It is very special and I have watched it twice already. It was really great to be able to see the baby and see that little heartbeat. I was sooooo worried that my sickness had somehow harmed the baby or put it in distress. But all is well and I am almost over this mess.

As a surprise, Cameron and I covertly planned a dinner at the cabin and invited the parents. They did not know what was coming! After dinner we pulled out the surprise (I am shocked we made it that long!) Cameron could hardly wait and, of course, they all got suspicious! So here is the big reveal.......

We made tasty treats with a secret inside.......

Everyone was suprised by what they found...........

It's a GIRL!!!!!! Almost everyone was expecting a boy!

Cameron and I were both surprised because we had prepared ourselves to hear them say it is a a boy. Wow! A little girl. The first granddaughter on both sides. This is so exciting and a little scary. I am used to having boys around. I have always wanted a little girl so I am looking forward to February when we get to meet her for the first time!!! Cameron is going to be a great father and I am sure she will be a daddy's girl! We are not set on a name, but we will let everyone know when we figure it out. Until next time!

It Has Been Interesting......

So I have not posted in a while, but there really has not been a lot of action other than me being sick. I found out that I was pregnant at about 5 weeks. It took a few weeks for the sickness to kick in, but let me tell you I have made up for any lost time spent hugging the toilet!! LOL! Between being nauseous, really tired, getting violently sick, having a cold for two weeks (which I am finally over) and then getting a dislocated rib in the process I have had a heck of time with this pregnancy! Not to mention the terribly nagging headache I have had for almost two weeks! I, like many, lost weight due to not being able to eat, but I am finally adding pounds and definitely have a baby bump! I was hoping that since it took so long to get pregnant and I went through so much to get here that maybe I would be lucky and not have a hard time. Well, I have never been a lucky person! I should have known.........I just keep reminding myself that not only did I ask for this, but it will be totally worth it in the end! I will most likely forget all of this once I hold my sweet baby in my arms. I can't wait for the first time I feel movement! It will be even more real! I have a long way to go, but I am excited to meet my little boy or little girl! I go back to the doctor on September 9th to find out the gender. So stay tuned to find out if  Baby Lankford is going to be Jaxon or Annabelle (names are subject to change, but not that likely)!!!! Here's to feeling better in my second trimester and a healthy baby! Until next time......
