Girls, Girls, Girls.......and then there was Drew!

Every year the family takes a trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama. This year we decided to leave the men at home and enjoy a little girl time. We enjoyed time in the sun, a little shopping in Foley and, of course, some good food! Our first day started out a little gloomy......

............but rain clouds can't keep this clan down for long. If you can't sit on the beach the next best thing is............the pool. Drew and Halaina enjoyed swimming and playing in the pool with LOTS of supervision. Eventually, the sun resurfaced from behind the clouds and we resumed our sun bathing.

The following day was beautiful so we ventured back to the beach for a little fun in the sun! If I am not mistaken, this was Drew and Halaina's first trip to the beach so it was a new and wonderous adventure. I, of course, was taking plenty of pictures to capture these special moments. Drew had a lot of fun "jumping the waves" or rather giving Brittany an arm workout. LOL! I love the look on Drew's face in this one........

Priceless............

For some reason Halaina insisted on walking in the oppsosite direction from our spot in the sand. So I got plenty of pictures of the back of Halaina and Kelley.

And can I just say........What a face! I think Halaina was a little tired of being in the hot sun. Too cute!!

I got so many great pictures of Drew that it is hard to pick just one! He was the only male lucky enough (though the guys most likely would not agree with the "lucky" part) that got to spend the weekend with us girls. He is just too cute and I had so much fun playing with him in pool and on the beach. I guess with three nephews of my own I relate to little boys much better than girls. Maybe one day there will be another little girl in the family.

I certainly hope that everyone had a good time on our trip. I certainly did (inspite of the terrible crick I had in my neck the whole time)! I did notice one thing when viewing all of the pictures from our beach trip (over 350 pics). I was not in a single picture!!!!!! It is almost like I wasn't even there..............

Well...............someone had to take the pictures, right?!?!?!?! At least I have my memories, for now anyway! I am notorious for forgetting things! All in all, it was another great trip to Gulf Shores. Maybe next time I will make the cut. LOL!! XOXO

Fun in the Sun........

I have enjoyed going to Lake Martin for years now, but my sweet nephews have never had the experience until this past weekend. I was excited to give them the lake experience along with Cameron, my mother and my father. I must say.........they LOVED it!!!! The first thing I heard when we pulled up on the boat was "Aunt Pam, come get in the water with us!!!" I could tell right away that they were really excited. Zach, Tyler and Alex had a wonderful time swimming, floating and riding in the boat for the first time. Of course, my mother and father were there to supervise and Cameron was very good at monitoring Alex. Zach and Tyler thought that Uncle Cameron was soooo funny when he jumped off the pier into the water. The funniest moment of the day was when Cameron asked Tyler if he wanted to jump off the pier with him. To which Tyler's response was "Noooo, I am not doing that....". Cameron then asked Tyler if he was a chicken and his response was........."Buk buk buk buk!" Of course, I am sure Tyler did not understand what Cameron meant, but it was the funniest response EVER for a three year old! LOL!

Everyone having fun in the water.

Zach was splashing himself!!!

Tyler loved climbing OUT of the water so that he could climb down the rocks to get back IN the water over and over again........He is too cute!

Alex was enjoying the easy life in the float (with supervision, of course).

My Dad...he wouldn't get in the water with us, but maybe he wasn't too bored! ;)

In the lake you will always find fish. Those pesky little things were biting us! Or at least they were biting me! Tyler (who is so talkative) says that when he comes back he is going to catch ALL of those fish so that they can't bite us anymore.......I'd like to see that.........LOL! They are all just too sweet and they enjoyed the lake more than I had hoped for and that is all I can ask. I was afraid they would be scared of the boat, but they LOVED it! My mother and I even got them to sit up front with us. Anyway, summer is all about fun in the sun and we have had plenty of that this year. I am just thankful that I got to share this experience with Zach, Tyler and Alex. They are my boys and I love them more than they know...........Until next time........ XOXO

Sleepytime.....

As many of you may already know I have had a terrible time sleeping for several months now. I have tried Tylenol PM, Advil PM, Yoga (which is very relaxing) and even Ambien. The Ambien works wonderfully, but I just hate taking medication since you run the risk of a multitude of side effects that are listed on the warning label. Rhonda, my mother-in-law, told me about a little tea that I should try called "Sleepytime" . Well, I have never liked hot tea in my life and I was sceptical about the taste. But, when you have not had a good nights sleep in 6 months or so you will do just about anything to correct the problem. I found this "Sleepytime Extra" at Kroger and has an extra herb called Valerian that acts as a sedative and best of all it is natural so no side effects! It has defiantly helped me sleep. I am still working on getting that full night of deep sleep without the Ambien (which makes me sleep like a rock), but I must say that this really helps. Just add a little honey for a touch of sweetness and enjoy the warmth of this fabulous tea. Just thought I would share this find with everyone in case you need a little help getting a good nights rest. Enjoy! XOXO

Savannah, Georgia

Back in April of this year the Lankford/Lamberth clan took a family trip to Savannah, Georgia. I have always wanted to visit Savannah, as it is so well known for its beauty and charm. Who better to experience such a beautiful, historical site with than your family. The past few years the Lankford's/Lamberth's have taken a family trip here and there and it always seems to fall on or around my birthday. Am I a lucky girl or what?!?! Anyway, as you can see saying that Savannah is charming and beautiful is an understatement. I mean, how often do you see such lush greenery in the South! Seeing as how it is SOOO hot and humid in the South!

Unfortunately, we did not have an extra hand to take this picture so Cameron was behind the camera!

We enjoyed a fabulous, not to mention fattening, lunch at Paula Deen's restaurant
Cameron strikes a pose! LOL!

The girls.................

It took three tries to get Jerry to open his eyes, but what a great picture of Jerry and Hank.

This was at my birthday dinner at The Crab Shack

Rhonda and Jerry

The foil hat was compliments of our server. Since they do not sing for birthdays he made me a hat and everyone took a turn trying it on. My favorite pose is Kasi, the jokester!
This one is pretty funny too!

I was obviously very amused!
Needless to say, we had a wonderful time and ate a lot of great food (it is a good thing we did lots of walking)! Hopefully, we can continue our annual family trip and see many more sites in the future. Family time and laughs are what I look forward to most in my life. There is a lot to be said for great family, great fun and lots of fabulous memories! Until next time......................XOXO
