Halloween 2010

I know this is a little late, but I have to share the cute photos of my nephews at Halloween this year. Zach was Spiderman, Tyler was a police officer and Alex was Batman. They were sooooo excited that they had the biggiest smiles. Too cute!

For the past couple of years my sister has been generous enough to bring the boys to Auburn/Opelika to trick or trick at one of the many events in town.

This year we went to Cornerstone Church for "Trunk or Treat". They all had fun and got plenty of candy (that they did not need). We had to stop by the store to get them buckets for their candy since my sister forgot theirs at home. So I went in the store got three pumpkins and handed one to each of the boys. As I was handing them out I said, "I got you all a pumpkin." In response Zach said, "That's not a pumpkin Aunt Pam! That's a bucket." I did not expect that from a 4 year old, but I guess he is just too smart for me. LOL!

So the boys had lots of fun and I got to spend some time with my cute nephews. You can't beat that.......Here are some pics of our afternoon.

Even though I did not see this little one on Halloween this year (because he was like a week old) I still thought I would share this cutie with you guys. William Henry Lamberth is my newest little nephew and I can't wait to spend more time with him in the years to come.

Maxwell Lankford

As many of you know I have always loved animals! As a child I had many, many cats and dogs. Now days I have three wonderful kids (aka dogs) in my life that I love more than anything in the world. I feel, however, that they each deserve their own story. So I would like to start with with my eldest and the love of my life, Maxwell.

While in college I desperately wanted a Pomeranian. I have learned that if you really want something there is one person to turn to and he will find what you need in a short amount of time. That is, of course, the Great Cameron Lankford. So Cameron did some searching and found a great selection. So............off to Bessemer we go. We arrived at the location to select my puppy and as we walked through the door ALL of the puppies ran straight to Cameron and ignored me except for the runt of the litter. The tiniest little puppy, all of about 1.5 pounds at the time, ran straight to me were I was standing all alone. I knew then that this was my future love. Max has been loyal to me from the start and I couldn't love him more. It has been 10 1/2 years now and through all of the Uh-Ho's and Oh-No's we have made our bond even stronger. He has even grown a little bit. He has blossomed to a whopping 4.8 pounds. So tiny!!! One great memory is when I attended Central Alabama Community College and I would take Max to school with me. I worked for one of the professors so I had a place to keep him while I was in class. All of the professors and employees LOVED Max. He even made an appearance on my student I.D. card courtesy of one of the secretaries. Let's be honest......who wouldn't love something so incrediably beautiful!?!?!?! Max is such a good boy and loves his Mom. I am truely lucky to have this sweet angel. Some people do not understand the connection between a dog and it's owner, but that is their loss. I can't imagine my life without my baby boy. If you think about it they are kind of like kids. You feed them, water them, clean up their messes, take care of them when they are sick, bathe and blowdry them, buy them toys, treats and for some even cloths and take them to the doctor. The good thing about a dog is that you can leave them home alone or cage them up and you don't have to pay for daycare. Anyway, this is my sweet Maxwell aka monkey, tootsieroll, toots and Maximus. I like my nicknames and he answers to them all........

I have learned many things from my kids, but the most important thing is unconditional love. Dogs always have a bit of innocence in them even as they grow older. They love there "people" even when we are having a bad day. It is alway nice to come home after a bad day or when you are sad to someone who loves you no matter what and is alway there for you. Having Max (and Sam) while Cameron was away in Iraq was so great. They really are more company than some people may think. At least I always had someone to hold when I need a little love. If you treat a dog with love and respect then you will have a friend for life. To all you dog lovers out there remember this...........Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our life whole. XOXO

Practice Makes Perfect.......

In case you have been hiding under a rock for the past year.....I have been a camera carrying, picture taking chic! It all started last October when I needed a new camera because the one I had was old, outdated and took fuzzy pictures. Well, as most of you know, Cameron is not one to buy modestly. Only the best for my husband! ;-) So we went into Best Buy to by a compact digital camera and emerged with a Canon SLR. Oh, don't be fooled, Cameron wanted to buy the big and fancy Nikon with all of the trimmings, but I talked him down. So instead we ended up with a Canon EOS Digital Rebel. It is a great camera and takes wonderful pictures. I am an amateur photographer, but I hope to learn more about the ins and outs of taking great pictures in the future. Thanks to my wonderful sister-in-law, Kasi, for introducing me to Picasa by Googe. It is a great editing program! So, I decided to share some of my favorite pics that I have taken in the last year. Though there are many, I tried to narrow down the list for your viewing pleasure. Now I just need to find a good teacher to help me improve and to teach me more about what my camera can really do.

My beautiful friend, Jennifer, and her new husband.

The reception......

Random stuff.......

Lake Martin shots.....
Two of my babies......

I am not sure if I took the black and white of Joyce or if it was Cameron, but I like it!

The tiny humans

Obviously, I did not take these.......Cameron is the master behind these pics.

Hopefully, I will improve on my skills. They say practice makes perfect! Family and friends beware. I am sure I will be snapping more shots of you all very soon. XOXO
