Showers for Annabelle

It is all becoming more real now that the showers have started. Cameron and I had bought a crib and dresser, but nothing more for the nursery. Now we have lots of baby gear as we get ready for the newest member of our family. To get us started we had we had our first baby shower for Annabelle on November 20th given by Rhonda and Kasi at Hillabee Baptist Church. They did such a great job decorating and preparing the yummy snacks! We had mini red velvet cupcakes, fruit and sugar cookies. I must say the cupcakes were the BEST! I could stand to eat about 10 more of those babies.

Cameron was not planning on staying the whole time, but somehow he managed to fit in nicely with all of the women and even helped open the many gifts we received. We are truly lucky to have such great family and friends to help us prepare for our little bundle of joy.

Here's a look at some of the gifts we received.....

Our little creative Kasi made this adorable wreath. I think I might save it to hang on the hospital room door.

Kasi also came across this cute idea. A few people wrote down their guesses of what Annabelle will weigh when she is born. Brittany wrote down her guess of 9 lbs after I took this picture. I pray she is way off! That is a big baby for a small momma to handle. LOL!

I also was given a shower this past Sunday, December 4th, by two of my good friends. Jennifer and Kristie did a great job and I am grateful to them for thinking of me as I get ready to be a mother for the first time. Jennifer is a mother of six and Kristie is a mother of two so they have lots of experience. I did not have as many attend as I hoped, but we had fun anyway. The food was great and we even had a couple of fun games to play. Kristie found a baby jeopardy game that was really fun. I will have to remember this one for future reference. By the way.........nursery rhymes are hard! Be Prepared!

I got a picture of Jennifer with her baby Sophie, but Krsitie was hiding from the camera!

Jennifer got the cutest cake from Sam's.

My little Amanda even drove down from Birmingham to come to the shower. I have not seen her in a long time so I am thankful she was willing to make the trip!

Annabelle has gotten a good start so far. I still have one more shower in January that will be given by my mother. Hopefully, we can wrap up the essentials and be as prepared as we can be after that shower. Though I have a feeling that no amount of preparation could get us ready for the reality of having a newborn. Just over ten weeks to go and we will be parents! I had a doctor appointment today and everything looks good and is right on track. Thanks to everyone who has helped us prepare thus far. We have a lot to learn!!!!! Until next time! XOXO
