Baby Lankford

So I went back to the doctor this morning for another ultrasound. We did get to see a tiny heartbeat and the doctor said that everything looks good and confirmed that I am 6 weeks and 1 day. Cameron asked how many were in there and, though some will be very disappointed, there is only 1 bambino! Thank God!Everyone has been wishing multiples on me! One baby is all I want for now. Just one healthy, happy baby. I want to be able to enjoy all the little moments and not feel stressed or overwhelmed. I am just thankful that God gave us this one miracle and I am looking forward to all that is to come.........

It is tiny!!! In the doctor's words, "It is the size of a grain of rice."




I don't go back for two weeks. The doctor said we should be able to see more of a baby form at 8 weeks. So until next time........

Baby Lankford

I went to the doctor today and was able to get an ultrasound. It is currently just a sack so there is not much to see, but they said everything is as it should be. That is great to hear!!! The nurse said that I am 5 weeks and my approximate due date is February 16th (right around our anniversary). The nurse said that could change depending on further measurements. I go back next Friday for another ultrasound and they said we may get to see the heartbeat. The good news is I only have to go to Columbus for a few more weeks and then they will release me to my regular OBGYN.  How exciting!!!! I can't wait to meet Baby Lankford in February!!!!!

The wait is over!!!!!!!!!

So I went to the doctor on Wednesday and again today and......................wait for it.................................



I AM PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!



Just when I decide to let go and leave it all in God's hand the miracle finally happens. It is really early on and I have to go back on Monday for more blood work to test my HCG levels, but there is something growing in there........I am so excited!!!! Cameron is thrilled and could hardly contain himself. He wanted to tell everyone on Wednesday!

Jer 29:11- For I know the plans I have for you,”declares the LORD,“ plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future...

Jesus Calling" Days 10 & 11

The devotionals for day 10 and day 11 speak of trusting God and showing our thanks for the blessings he has already bestowed upon us and for the blessings yet to come. Day 10 talks about always putting your trust in God whether things are great or not so great. As long as we give all our trust and love to Him we will always have safety and serenity in our hearts.  I have heard people say before that they don't know how to pray or how to talk to God. Day 11 says to speak to God candidly. That is all it takes. Open your heart and your mind and let the emotions, needs and thoughts flood out. God is your best friend and will always be there to hear your prayers.

Day 10

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?" Psalm 56:3-4

"But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:20-21


Day 11
 
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10
 
"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." Colossians 4:2
 
"His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires." 2 Peter 1:3-4

"Jesus Calling" Day 9

So, I will admit, I am a little behind on my reading, but this dedication speaks of slowing down and taking more time. It is very interesting how each verse that I have read sounds like it is describing where I am in life right now. I guess everyone, in some way, is affected my these words. It is hard for me to "slow down" and "wait" because I feel like I have been waiting forever! How do you make yourself wait even longer then you already have or just let go of something you want more than anything????? Today's dedication says that pushing to make something happen before its time can cause stress. This make sense to me! Logically, I know that being stressed will not help the cause. So here we are back at Patience! God help me because I don't want to wait anymore, but I will let you be my guide and enjoy the journey!

Day 9

"What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31



"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." Psalm 46:1-3
 
"For no word from God will ever fail." Luke 1:37


Psalms 46:1-3 really makes me think about all of the natural disasters that have been occurring around the world. "Mountains fall into the heart of the sea." People need to find there way back to God and trust that he will protect us and love us all if we follow Him. So many people in the world need God's refuge right now.....

"Jesus Calling" Days 4-8

I have been busy and distracted lately and I have not had a chance to post about my readings. So I thought I would combined several days in summary. I find that it is all connected in some way.

Day 4:

"I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory." Psalm 63:2


"See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and He rules with a mighty arm. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him. He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young." Isaiah 40:10-11


"Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast." Psalm 139:7-10

"I trust You, Jesus." These are words that fill our souls and strengthen our spirit. If we trust in God and believe in the depth of His love and guidance we can't go wrong. Turning to God in times of need, heartache, sadness or even joy will strengthen our relationship with Him and give us peace in life. We all have things that are difficult to deal with whether it be physical or emotional. Sometimes we find these obstacles hard to understand and we question God. I know I am guilty of those questions. We must remember that God is our guide and as long as we trust in him we can overcome any obstacle. I think it would be a great idea to say every morning before we start our day, "I trust You, Jesus!" Let Him be your guide......

Day 5

"The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:17-18


"For we live by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7

I believe I have said this before, but society today bases success on how much money we make, what kind of car we drive, what kind of house we live and so on and so on.......True success is loving and trusting in God. Following Him as he guides us through this life. God knows our hearts and our dreams. They may sometimes seem impossible, but if we can leave it with Him it will happen. Just be patient and trust that he has a plan. I personally think that true success and happiness also comes from your family. The relationships we build with our family and with God will give us more pleasure in life and any material items ever could. These are words to remember, my friends!

Day 6

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21
"The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace." Romans 8:6


"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:30-31


"Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” Revelation 5:13


My reading for this day spoke of having "positive expectations" which is something I struggle with from time to time. I am not a pessimistic person, but I do tend to try not to get my hopes up. Tough sometimes I have a hard time being positive when there are things that I do not understand or cannot control (such as having a baby). I may never understand, and maybe I am not meant to.......I have, over the years, taught myself to keep my expectations low so that I do not get hurt or disappointed. Being realistic is what I call it! In this reading I have learned that it is OK to be positive, and not to get discouraged if things don't happen right away. Boy this journey is really showing me that my patience needs A LOT of work. Patience and trust is what this all comes down to. I have let my worries and doubts take the lead at times and I intend on changing that way of thinking. With God there is no doubt! There were two phrases in this reading that really stood out to me. "Time is a trainer, teaching you to wait upon Me, to trust Me in the dark." and "Keep your mind open and eye to all He is doing in your life." That says it all.....

 Day 7
 
"Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises." Psalm 22:3
 
"Praise the LORD, my soul. I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live." Psalm 146:1-2


"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:18

So often we forget to give thanks to God for all that we have been blessed with in life. We must show our love, trust and thanks to Him everyday. Take a moment each day to look around at all your blessings. Whether they are big or small they are blessing!

Day 8


"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1


"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12


"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

Hope. This is something that we based life around. No matter what comes your way if you have hope and give your burdens to God you will be protected.
